Currently as we speak (and the votes are still being counted), Murphy is up by about 57,000 (about 1.8%) over the Republican guy (can’t even remember his name anymore…HeHe). They still have about 5% of the vote to count which is mostly VBM (Vote By Mail) and Absentee votes which has been skewing in favor of Murphy by about 50%.

Just to do the math if there are about 100,000 votes left to count (5% of 2.5MM) that means an additional margin of about 50,000 votes for Murphy which puts his final margin near 100,000 votes. I am sure nobody except perhaps Rachael Maddow will report this fact that NJ was not that close afterall…again this is a BFD and we should not accept the media’s narrative that it was that close of a race…it merely seemed close because Essex county (the most Democratic County in the state) had some issues counting about 30% of their votes.

Update: I do not have a source but I have heard there may be as many as 300,000 uncounted VBM and Provisional ballots. If that is true then Phil’s lead should be between 4% and 5% when all the votes are counted. Every update pushes the victory in NJ a little higher…freakin awesome against who was that guy again???
