Brilliant Bearman

Ollie Bearman has been named as the driver of the day.

Well deserved, young man. That was a performance beyond his years.

Pace, tyre protection and strategy - he had it all today.

Verstappen 'very pleased'

Max Verstappen, speaking to David Coulthard...

'Overall, a fantastic weekend for the whole team and myself. I felt really good with the car and it was the same in the race.

'The last stint was a bit longer than we would have liked but with the Safety Car, you had to go for it.

'So, the last few laps with cold tyres and backmarkers it was a bit slippery but we had good pace and could manage it, so overall, pleased.'

Perez praises progress

Sergio Perez, speaking to David Coulthard...

'We definitely made some good progress. I just think it was a shame we qualified out of the front row because we had a great start.

'Unfortunately, Charles really kept it together and we couldn't get through. It was a nice fight.

'And later on, it was quite a compromised race with the safety car there so early, it was a very long stint on the hard tyres.

'It was tricky at times, especially in the beginning. We had no warm-up, we were sliding and it took a long time to get through Lewis and Lando.

'But overall it's a great day for the team.'

Leclerc's reaction

Charles Leclerc, speaking to David Coulthard...

'We had quite good pace because we had the fastest lap at the end and I got helped by DRS.

'Overall, the feeling was pretty good. It was a bit of a boring race because Red Bull were a bit too quick and behind we had a gap.

'But we took the maximum points we could today and that was the target, so that's great.'

VERSTAPPEN WINS!

We've barely seen him - but there you go!

Max Verstappen is the winner of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

Sergio Perez has finished second with Charles Leclerc taking third.

The big story, however, is young Ollie Bearman coming home in seventh. An incredible drive from the rookie on his F1 debut.

Verstappen: 'We had good pace'

Max Verstappen, speaking over team radio...

Good race, that. Tyres were a little bit cold at the end. I think we had good pace and managed the whole race well. Another fantastic weekend. Well done everyone.

Lap 10/50

The safety car has come in. We're racing again!

Lando Norris still leads, with Max Verstappen second.

There was a crane on track hoisting Lance Stroll's Aston Martin.

Replays showed he made contact with the wall before his crash.

A sloppy error, unfortunately, and a lapse in concentration.

Bearman's verdict

A delighted Ollie Bearman shared his thoughts over team radio.

'Not bad I think,' he said. 'I would have liked to go a bit longer on that soft at the start because it felt good.

'The car was mega today, so thank you, I really enjoyed it.'

He sounds like a true F1 driver already!

Lap 36/50

That was a proper stint from Lewis Hamilton.

He was finally called in for a new set of tyres.

Oscar Piastri will be delighted with that.
