Jerry Lynn Jones, 78, of Chattanooga, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 17, 2026, at Life Care of Collegedale.

A resident of Hamilton County since 1991, Jerry was formerly employed with Hill & Griffith Casting Solutions for many years and was a member of the American Foundry Society. He was a founding member of Graceworks Church and was known for his love of gardening and golf.

Jerry was deeply committed to serving his community. He formerly served as treasurer for the Tennessee Valley Parents of Blind Children and was a former board member of the Chattanooga Girls Choir, where he served as president for two years.

Jerry was preceded in death by his son, Jamey Jones; his sister, Mary LaBuy; his brother, Junior Jones; and his mother, Rosa Susong, who passed away just one week before Jerry at the age of 108.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Pat Jones; children, Tammy Ellwanger of Ringgold; Tony (Pam) Ashens of Caledonia, Il.; Cassie (Bobby) Olson of Doon, Ia.; and Angie (Steve) Oliger of Largo, Fl.; and the two grandchildren he helped raise, April (Chris) Pitts and Amanda Jones, both of Jacksonville, Fl. He is also survived by his brothers, Cecil (Arlene) Jones of Belvidere, Il., and Kyle (Faye) Jones of Rockford, Il.; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Jerry will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his generous service to others, his love of the outdoors, and the many lives he touched throughout his years in the community.

A Celebration of Life service for Jerry will be held on Sunday, Sept. 6, in the funeral home chapel, with Dr. Bill Owens officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, 7454 E. Brainerd Road, Chattanooga.
