Eammon Homes gave GB News viewers a heartbreaking insight into his current health battles live on air, before being abruptly cut off by bosses.

The presenter, 65, was covering the current investigation into Peter Mandelson for urinating in the street in London

He explained that due to his own battles with spinal issues, there are times when he simply 'can't wait' when he has to go to the bathroom.

'I'm getting over a medical condition, and I just can't wait,' he said to his co-host Ellie Costello.

'And then (Mandelson) was in the street. But what else is the man to do? Knock on someone's door and say, "Would you let me go and have a pee in your house?"

'Most people are going to say, how dare you, I'm not going to do that. So I'm saying there is a difficulty in public about where you actually go to relieve yourself. That's the thing.'

Eammon then admitted that bosses were telling him to swiftly move the breakfast discussion on and took a swipe at them for not viewing the topic with more nuance.

'And as my producer says in my ear the give away is next. They're obviously not interested in this dilemma or how it relates to me identifying with it,' he said.

The presenter's health woes significantly worsened in 2021 when he had spinal surgery that resulted in complications that have left him wheelchair bound.

The television personality said that he is forcing himself to 'battle on', admitting that his health is now so poor that he requires the assistance of carers.

Eamonn told Sunday World: 'I have to have carers now looking after me. Somebody dresses me in the morning, somebody undresses me at night, somebody gets my food for me.

'I have to be tested with spinal injections to see if it will take, and then grow some life back into my spine and legs. It's all very experimental. I'll know next week. I'd say this is the toughest stage of my life ever. And I just battle on.'

Eammon's comments come after disgraced Labour grandee Mandelson could find out the true cost of 'spending a penny' after he was caught short in public last week.

The former US Ambassador faces a fine if he is found to have been in breach of local by-laws after he urinated in the street in upmarket Notting Hill, west London.

The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea Council has now confirmed it is investigating the incident after the Daily Mail first broke the story of Lord Mandelson's late-night incident.

Councillor Johnny Thalassites, the London council's lead member for environment and planning, said it was 'unacceptable' for people to treat public spaces as a personal toilet.

He said: 'We are aware of images appearing to show a prominent politician caught short on one of our streets and are investigating whether an offence has been committed.

'While we appreciate that nature can call at the most inconvenient moments, we are proud of our borough's clean streets and amazing spaces and it is unacceptable for anyone to treat them as a urinal.'

Urinating in public is an offence under the Public Order Act 1986.

It can be dealt with by way of a warning, but it can also lead to a fixed penalty notice or prosecution.

The incident comes after Eammon raged that 'nobody cares' about his 'special needs' in a rant live on GB News last month

The Irish star revealed his frustration with the decline of customer service within businesses while discussing the mass internet outage by Amazon Web Services.

The presenter then admitted that he is disappointed with the lack of contact from human representatives.

He told viewers: 'Do you know what's so annoying?

'I spent the weekend, and I mean the weekend, on various phone lines, and the minimum take was 40 minutes, 38 minutes, to be answered by a human being.'

'Take Apple, for instance, they will do everything to avoid you speaking to a human being.

'Instead, they keep you [on hold] until you want to end your life.'

'It was at this point that the broadcaster lifted the lid on the complications he faces with his disability when booking hotel rooms.

Eamonn fumed: 'Do you know what? You can't even phone a hotel anymore. You've got to go to a website, but I don't want to go to a website.

'I want to talk to people and explain I've got special needs.

'I need a bathroom with bars so I can hold and stand up in the shower with or whatever, but you just cannot speak to anybody.

'But nobody cares.'
