Anyone else intending to watch the eclipse today?

As I just happened to finish a loo roll this morning (I know, TMI) I have made a pinhole camera using a very convenient piece of cardboard that already has a pinhole in it. (Sitting on the camera was probably not a good idea but I have bludged it back into shape)

I realise this is the third pinhole camera I have made for a solar eclipse. The first one was in 1975 or 1976 (I think the latter) and again in 1999. I'm going to be trying watching in a bowl or bucket of water too.

ETA: Well, this has been hugely disappointing. Cloud is obscuring the Sun from the house. I went out, thinking I'd walk around and see if there was anywhere better - didn't get very far before I admitted it was far too hot for me to be outside.

Reduced to watching the NYT feed.

I peeked at Slooh a time or two. There's nothing like seeing one as it happens out there under it.

I traveled all the way from Germany to Spain for this and got to watch the whole glorious show.
Totality was as glorious as it was short.
A big prominence was visible to the naked eye on the eastern edge of the covered disc!!!!

It was impossible to get accommodation so we camped wild and slept under open sky for two days but it was worth every second of it.

I am equally glad and sad now, as chances are this will have been the last one in my lifetime I got a chance to see.

Next good eclipse in Australia is 2028

22nd July and Sydney will be the prime spot for total eclipse
