I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! Australia came to a thrilling finish on Sunday night as Skye Wheatley walked away as 'Queen of the Jungle'.

It came down to the final two, with Skye going up against Irish television presenter Tristan MacManus, but after an 'incredibly close' public vote, the social media star walked away with $100,000 for her chosen charity, Bully Zero.

But many viewers on social media were not happy with the way things played out on the jungle-based reality show, airing their complaints on X (formerly Twitter).

'That's disappointing,' wrote one user after the winner was announced, while another wrote 'I have no opinion on Skye because I have no idea who she is or what she does, this year's I'm A Celebrity is a non-event.'

Another X user had a spray for the voting public, writing, 'Who ever voted for Skye have got no idea. She carried on so much and most of it all was just put on. In my opinion, Tristan should have won it hands down way more deserving and genuine.'

'Anyone who didn't know that would crown a nobody ex-reality TV contestant as winner tonight wasn't paying attention. Well played on letting an actual celebrity get to second place though,' wrote another viewer.

There were also some viewers were confused that their favourite celebs did not end up winning.

'I only watched this show through TikToks of Callum [Hole] but I'm gutted he didn'’t win... he's my new fave reality personality I honestly love him so unintentionally funny,' one user wrote about the former Love Islander.

However, there were also many positive comments about this year's season, with viewers overwhelmingly praising the show's new co-host, Robert Irwin.

'I thought Robert brought a warmth this year and a genuine excitement…..and I noticed less trials using animals which always concerned me as I thought it was a bit cruel,' wrote one user.

'Such a great season. Fantastic group of Celebs and Robert has been a wonderful addition alongside Julia,' another commented. 

'Robert really is a great entertainer and replacement for Dr Chris [Brown],' another I'm A Celebrity fan posted.

It comes as Wheatley's victory in the competition on Sunday saw her breaking down in tears as she looked back on her time on the show.

'I am so blessed to ever have experienced that. Thank you to everyone here for having me' she said.

'I'm really shocked. I will say it again - I feel absolutely blessed to have had this opportunity and to go through the things that I went through and to do it for these three amazing boys and the rest of the world...

'I feel the whole journey, the whole experience has taught me so many things. I cannot wait to apply those in my every day life.'

The former Big Brother Australia star added: 'I just felt like I was being myself the whole time.'
