Unfortunately, the rise of predatory journals, publications that exploit researchers for profit without providing proper peer review or editorial standards, has made this process riskier and more confusing than ever.

To safeguard the integrity of the DTU research community, DTU Library strongly encourage all researchers to consult Cabells list before submitting their work for publication.

Cabells maintains two comprehensive databases:

• Journalytics: A vetted directory of reputable academic journals across disciplines.
• Predatory Reports: A database of journals flagged for deceptive practices, lack of transparency, or unethical publishing standards.

Each journal is evaluated against over 60 criteria, ensuring that researchers can make informed decisions based on rigorous, transparent assessments.

Publishing in a predatory journal can have serious consequences:

• Damage to academic reputation.
• Loss of research credibility.
• Difficulty in securing future funding or collaboration.
• Limited visibility and impact of your work.

Using Cabells list helps researchers:

• Identify journals that meet ethical and scholarly standards.
