Baker McKenzie has further strengthened its Dispute Resolution Practice in Mexico, adding Christian Zinser as a partner in the firm’s Mexico City office.

Christian brings more than 20 years of experience advising clients on complex arbitration, civil, commercial and family matters, often involving multiple jurisdictions. He has acted in numerous high-profile cases and has significant experience advising the Mexican Congress, including in matters involving freedom of expression and moral damages, as well as ample expertise in tech, AI and blockchain-related disputes.

Christian is also a highly-regarded mediator, with a track record of resolving contentious disputes. He is equally skilled in pursuing litigation and arbitration through to their final stages, providing clients with strategic representation in high-stakes disputes, including the pursuance of damages, specifically punitive damages.

“Christian’s arrival further enhances our strong Dispute Resolution capabilities in Mexico and across the region,” said Widge Devaney, Americas Chair of Baker McKenzie’s Dispute Resolution Practice. “His experience in arbitration, litigation and mediation will be invaluable to our clients as dispute resolution strategies continue to evolve in response to regulatory, judicial and political developments in Mexico.”

As mediation and arbitration are expected to play an increasingly important role following recent judicial reforms in Mexico, Christian’s experience will be highly valuable to multinational clients exploring investor-state arbitration, including under frameworks such as the USMCA and bilateral investment treaties.

“Christian brings a rare combination of technical excellence, commercial judgment and strong client relationships,” said Pepe Larroque, Baker McKenzie’s Managing Partner in Mexico. “His addition strengthens our litigation and arbitration presence in Mexico City and enhances our ability to support clients seamlessly across the US, Latin America, Europe and beyond, by becoming a trusted advisor for their needs.”

Prior to joining Baker McKenzie, Christian was a solo practitioner before founding Zinser Legal in 2006.

“I am looking forward to joining Baker McKenzie’s world-class team and offering clients the breadth of services and global platform required to support increasingly complex, cross-border disputes.”

Christian earned his LLB from Universidad Anáhuac del Norte in 2003, his LLM from Universidad Panamericana in 2015, and an Executive MBA from Quantic School of Business and Technology in 2025. He is admitted to practice law in Mexico.
