Do I have honest issues about this election? Yeah of course.

They are the same ones I have had for months:

• Gaza and Michigan
• Gas Prices
• Unemployment

These are the things I feel are the three things that could send the Biden campaign south. Michigan? Still a wait and see. Gas Prices are down as a result of opening up the reserves and Unemployment is still low. So Biden still has the upper hand on the economy and as the incumbent that’s a huge plus, ESPECIALLY amongst Joe and Jane Q. Average, the guy who doesn’t spend every moment focused on the election.

Let’s remember kids, a large part of the public is driven by, “do I have a job or not”? When the answer is yes, the incumbent is likely to win.

Let’s remember something else, throughout 2011 and 2012, there was agony over Obama’s employment numbers. “NO ONES EVER BEEN RE-ELECTED WITH UNEMPLOYMENT OVER 7.2 % !!!! BLARGH THE SKY IS FALLING!!”

We heard that over and over and over again with Obama’s numbers at 7.8%

And yet, he won. (Oh, and lest we forget, Obama had a VERY BAD (if not terrible) first debate against Mitt Romney. No one, this site included, disputed that fact.)

Biden’s most recent unemployment numbers?

4.0%

Ronald Reagan got re-elected with True Unemployment at 7.5%

So, OK, last night was bad. But despite what every blog, every tv show and your Aunt Mamie is saying, this is not a death blow. Remember, the news media profits off of BAD news and conflict in politics. Of course, they’ve been trumpeting this all day. In another two weeks they will have to move on to something else.

(Yes, it is still, um — *counts fingers* — four+ months until Election Day.)

Not saying that other things can’t happen. Eight years ago, I was saying that Trump just might pull this thing out, while others said “Pshaw!”

It is highly depressing that he won the EV* in 2016 and its also depressing that he’s getting another shot. But then, that’s what you get when you are running against a cult leader.

Biden must continue to hammer on the good economy, the Supreme Court, other federal judgeships and Pro-Choice Rights.

He’s got to hit a home run at the DNC. (We have to get State of the Union Biden back!)

We have to register the millions of voters who are turning 18 this year. That’s a must.

So it’s not going to be an easy ride. And it’s going to be close.

But “Over”?? “Ovah??”

NOTHINGS OVER!

*Note: I never say “Trump won the election in 2016”, I always say “Trump won the EV in 2016” That is a fact. And I say it because it reminds us that DEMOCRATIC IDEALS ARE MORE POPULAR THAN REPUBLICAN ONES. Whatever happens, Trump is not going to win the Popular Vote this time either. All of the GOPs hopes hinges on the Electoral College.
