Okay, I know every trend piece this summer is saying the same thing, but I’m saying it again anyway: colorful, beaded necklaces are everywhere right now. They were on the runways (Who What Wear pulled the best examples), all over Instagram, and – yay! in my own jewelry stash. In fact, these happy, colorful necklaces have been my summertime move for years (along with bright turquoise eyeliner – I swear by this combo for summer).

So when we set out to make the most playful summertime necklace ever…we honestly didn’t realize that these necklaces would be so on trend – that part was completely accidental! But the real stone beads (in swirly, night-sky blue), with the handmade, glazed-porcelain discs in popsicle colors…that part was deeply intentional.

Trending or no, I can vouch for the long term usefulness of this kind of necklace: it’s ridiculously fun – and decidedly summery! – year after year after year.

Oh and ps. We named it the Confetti Bonbon necklace. I can’t you guys. It’s so perfect.

Four Foolproof Summer Outfit Ideas With A Colorful, Beaded Necklace

The right colorful necklace (at least for me) has strong Wear With Everything energy, so this part is a little silly: honestly, wear this thing with anything! That said, it’s always fun to see different outfits with the same key piece, so let’s play around a lil’.

I love any sort of breezy linen set, especially one with slight pajama vibes. A bright, playful necklace keeps the look unstuffy, while also making it more Real Outfit than Time For Bed.
