Demonstrating a publisher-centric network to easily share — and bill — AI agents and (others) for valuable content

It’s time for publishers to collectively build a public marketplace for digital information. As easy to find and pay for content as to scrape it without paying.

The Donald W. Reynolds Journalism Institute and the Information Triust Exchange Governing Association are helping news publishers to get paid. To help launch networked content sharing, purchasing and billing — not just for AI engines but for humans and others — and their “agents” as well:

  • For trustworthy, valuable, copyrighted content
  • Where publishers maintain control of their subscriber relationship
  • And the public has one-bill, one account simplicity even as they roam

Join our invitation-only virtual online collaboration and action-leaning discussion on Tuesday, Aug. 25, at 2 p.m. EDT. Plan to actively participate with your questions and ideas for action. For an invitation, email nextstep@itega.org.

An agenda for consensus and collective action

Before this “virtual” meeting, you will receive a written agenda and prompting questions. They will help us to collectively learn what will meet publishers’ urgent needs . . . how to build consensus on the right next steps . . . and who aligned to take them.

In the Aug. 25 session, we will:

  • Share what’s important to your business now
  • Discuss how to address the AI scraping challenge
  • Describe and show an idea collaborators have in mind
  • Seek consensus for collective action on feasible next steps
  • Explore the idea of newsrooms becoming your community’s “data hub”
  • Outline a working prototype of news sites sharing users and selling content
  • Commit to participation and specific actions
  • Discuss and invite your questions and feedback
  • Learn about the proposed Missouri project

To learn more about this groundbreaking collaborative effort, email nextstep@itega.org for discussion before Aug. 25.
