Guwahati: Resonia Ltd., a power transmission infrastructure developer, has announced a major initiative with the launch of Assam’s first dedicated helpline for farmers along the Northeastern Region Expansion Scheme (NERES XXV) project corridor.

The District Commissioner of Chirang, Gokul Chandra Brahma launched the helpline.

This pioneering effort provides a structured, direct communication channel to the local landowners, farmers and agricultural communities, enabling seamless resolution of their respective queries. The helpline has been launched to help farmers from the power corridor to listen to their concerns and find solutions.

The multilingual helpline will be available in Assamese, Bodo and Hindi languages. It will remain operational till the end of the NERES XXV (A) project.

The multilingual helpline will enable farmers and residents living across XXX corridor villages in Kokrajhar, Chirang, Baksa and Bajali districts to obtain project-related information, seek clarity, share feedback and grievances and get their respective queries resolved regarding transmission line construction and associated activities.

The initiative is the first of its kind in Assam's power transmission sector and reflects Resonia's commitment to making stakeholder engagement an integral part of infrastructure development.

“This is a good initiative by the company to initiate a dedicated channel of communication for the farmers for any query that they may have. Most of the issues can be amicably resolved with dialogue and pace of development will remain at speed bringing prosperity to our district as well as our state. I commend the Resonia management for bringing about this innovative idea of discussion and deliberation to deliver solutions that is both desirable and durable,” said Gokul Chandra Brahma, DC, Chirang.

The NERES XXV project is designed to strengthen the power transmission network across Assam and the Northeast, improving grid reliability and supporting the region's growing electricity demand. As with all large transmission projects, successful implementation depends on sustained cooperation with farmers and local communities through whose land the transmission corridor passes.

Recognising this, Resonia has established the Helpline as a dedicated interface between project teams and local stakeholders. The company believes that transparent communication and continuous engagement help minimise misunderstandings, strengthen trust and facilitate smoother implementation of infrastructure projects while respecting the interests of local communities.

"The Farmer Helpline reflects our commitment to transparent communication and collaborative development. We want every farmer and community member along the NERES XXV project corridor to have easy access to information, timely responses and a direct channel to engage with our project teams. Infrastructure development is most successful when it is built on trust, cooperation and mutual respect," a Resonia spokesperson said.
