Mamdani said the city partnered with LinkNYC and the NBA on Wednesday to stream Game 4 on dozens of screens across the city.
To keep the Knicks fever alive, Mayor Zohran Mamdani says 130 LinkNYC kiosks across the five boroughs will stream Game 5 of the NBA Finals on Saturday night.
“The Knicks belong to all New Yorkers, whether you’re watching from the Garden or not,” Mamdani said in a statement Friday. “Earlier this week, New Yorkers gathered around LinkNYC kiosks to watch one of the greatest comebacks in basketball history.”
“This weekend, we’re running it back,” he added. “More than a hundred kiosks will turn our sidewalks into watch parties and our streets into celebrations. Knicks in Five.”
Mamdani said the city partnered with LinkNYC and the NBA on Wednesday to stream Game 4 on dozens of screens across the city.
The Knicks beat the San Antonio Spurs 107-106 that night, making a record comeback after being down by 29 points and securing a 3-1 lead in the finals.
Wednesday night’s LinkNYC broadcast came after Knicks owner James Dolan canceled a watch party outside Madison Square Garden, the mayor said in a social media post that quickly went viral.
