Each semester, the Methodist University of São Paulo organizes two major academic conferences bringing together students, researchers, and faculty from its graduate and postgraduate programs. These conferences feature a variety of academic, scientific, and outreach activities, with a particular focus on initiatives with significant social impact, the dissemination of knowledge, and the promotion of practices aimed at social justice.

This semester, the meeting will take place on May 11, 2026, and will focus on extracurricular activities under the general theme: “The Use of AI: Responsibilities in Academic Research, Education, and Society.” The goal is to promote critical reflection on the ethical, educational, scientific, and social challenges associated with the growing presence of artificial intelligence in various areas of contemporary life.

The event’s opening ceremony will feature four prominent figures in the humanities who possess proven expertise in their respective fields. This event is supported by the UNESCO Chair in Communication for Regional Development, affiliated with the Methodist University of São Paulo.

Among the guests will be two members of the ORBICOM network: Malvina Eugênia from Argentina and Carmen Rico from Uruguay. Also participating will be researcher Carlos Eduardo from Brazil and Clara Guimarães from Canada.

The event will be streamed on YouTube, with access via QR code, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. local time in Brazil, Uruguay, and Argentina.
