Digital bank platform, Moniepoint has announced that it now serves more than 20 million businesses and individuals across Nigeria and Africa, while disbursing over $700 million in loans to Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, MSMEs, in 2025.

The fintech company disclosed this in its 2025 Impact Report, which highlighted its contribution to financial inclusion, digital payments and access to credit for small businesses.

According to the report, three out of every four merchants who obtained loans through the platform accessed formal business credit for the first time, reflecting Moniepoint’s efforts to bridge the financing gap facing many small businesses.

Commenting on the report, Moniepoint’s Co-founder and Group Chief Executive Officer, Tosin Eniolorunda, said: “Financial happiness is about giving people the confidence that comes from having reliable financial tools to grow their businesses and improve their livelihoods.”

He added: “Over the past decade, we have evolved beyond being a technology provider to becoming a direct catalyst for economic transformation by expanding access to banking, payments, savings and credit.”

According to him, businesses that received Moniepoint loans recorded a 36 percent increase in average transaction value, while lending to women-owned businesses grew by more than 300 percent during the year.

The report stated that Moniepoint’s lending model uses transaction data rather than collateral to assess creditworthiness, enabling thousands of previously underserved entrepreneurs to access financing and build formal credit histories.

It further revealed that 88 percent of merchants who received loans reported business growth, while 27 percent of surveyed businesses expanded their workforce. Businesses using the platform collectively employed more than eight million people in 2025.

The company said its subsidiaries now process about $250 billion in annual transactions, while its Point-of-Sale terminals operate across all 774 local government areas of Nigeria, helping about 100 million Nigerians access digital payment services.

The report added: “Our payment infrastructure continues to connect millions of Nigerians to the digital economy, particularly in underserved communities.”

It also showed that Moniepoint’s USSD banking platform grew to five million users in 2025, representing a 500 percent increase over the previous year.

On women empowerment, the report disclosed that 36 percent of loans were disbursed to women-owned businesses, while 62 percent of female beneficiaries said it was their first formal business loan.

Eniolorunda said: “Our mission is to remove barriers to financial access and build an inclusive financial ecosystem that empowers businesses and individuals to achieve their goals.”
