7. The convential wisdom that the party of the president will lose midterms may be being questioned after a new poll shows Americans trust Republicans more than Democrats on key issues of the economy, tariffs, and immigration; as a New York Times opinion piece suggests Democratic electoral strategy is not that good; and Elon Musk is donating $10 million to a GOP candidate in Kentucky.

6. A Fox News survey of almost 20 Democrats potentially running for president in 2028 found only one willing to state that a man cannot become a woman, highlighting deep divisions within the party on gender identity issues and a disconnect from normal Americans.

President Donald Trump issued a complete endorsement of Barry Moore in Alabama’s open U.S. Senate race; Moore described the behind-the-scenes account and expressed honor after the announcement, but Attorney General Steve Marshall vowed not to back down despite the endorsement (ditto for Jared Hudson); but many expect the Trump support to change the race dramatically.
