Alabama headlines this week span college basketball, national security, and state politics. 7. Officials praised the swift removal of a grenade-like improvised explosive device found at a South Alabama dam, preventing what could have been a catastrophic attack on critical infrastructure in a state already on edge from rising domestic threats and political violence.

6. Another arrest was made amid a troubling trend of sexual misconduct cases in Madison City Schools as authorities and school officials scramble to address a disturbing pattern of abuse that has shaken parents and exposed serious failures in protecting students from predators within the system.

5.  State Rep. Juandalynn Givan (D-Birmingham) launched a vicious attack on U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, calling him an “Uncle Tom” over the redistricting ruling, revealing the ugly racial rhetoric Democrats are willing to deploy when they lose control of racially gerrymandered maps that have propped up their power for years.

4. U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) voiced strong support for President Donald Trump’s good idea of suspending the federal gas tax (18.4 cents per gallon on gas and 24.4 cents a gallon on diesel), arguing it would deliver immediate relief to struggling Alabama families who are being hammered by high energy prices caused by the Iran conflict and years of failed Biden-era energy policies.

3. State Reps. Matt Simpson (R-Daphne) and Phillip Pettus (R-Killen) issued a stern warning that they are not going to let this woke blue state crap go on in Alabama, threatening litigation over a PAC’s verifiable lies and defamatory attack ads as they fight back against dishonest special interest groups trying to smear conservative lawmakers.

2. President Donald Trump’s summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping produced an agreement that Iran can never have nuclear weapons while addressing energy purchases from the United States, the ongoing Iran war as the U.S. maintains pressure through the Strait of Hormuz, and keeps military options on the table.

1. The media is trying to sell a message of “confusion” ahead of Alabama’s primary election on Tuesday in light of redistricting changes, but the hysterics about voting day confusion are only eclipsed by liars claiming redistricting is an attack on voting rights and democracy, even though it simply corrects previous racially gerrymandered maps that favored Democrats.
