The Supreme Court ruled 5-4 against President Donald Trump’s executive order ending birthright citizenship, upholding the 14th Amendment’s guarantee of citizenship for those born on U.S. soil regardless of parents’ immigration status but Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh laid out a road map for fixing this, stating, “Congress could—consistent with the Fourteenth Amendment—amend §1401(a) or otherwise enact new legislation establishing exceptions to birthright citizenship for children born to foreign citizens unlawfully or temporarily in the country. But Congress has not yet done so.”

1. Alabama Republicans, including Tuberville (R-Auburn), blasted the Supreme Court’s birthright citizenship ruling as one that will cause chaos for years, with Tuberville accusing out-of-touch justices influenced by the “Communist Left’s meltdown over Roe v Wade.”
