Three New York state residents — including one from the city — remain quarantined in Nebraska after disembarking from the cruise ship at the center of the hantavirus outbreak.

During an interview on “News All Day,” City Health Commissioner Dr. Alister Martin told NY1 anchor Shannan Ferry that the hantavirus outbreak is unlikely to spread to New York City.

“When it comes to hantavirus, the risk to New Yorkers still remains extremely low,” Dr. Martin said.

Dr. Martin also said that city officials are monitoring hantavirus and other potential public health risks ahead of this summer's World Cup.

“We are prepping and planning for the potential of things like measles, things like hantavirus, but also doing the prep for some of the things that just happen when you have over 1 million visitors coming to a city," Martin said.
