Last month the Department of Computer Science at Oxford was visited by 29 undergraduate students and 2 faculty members from the School of Computer and Communication Sciences at EPFL (Ecole Polytechnique de Lausanne, Switzerland). The students are in their final BSc year and wanted to get a feeling of what it is like to be a student in Oxford.

After walking a bit through the city center, we had lunch at Merton, then visited Merton and Christ Church followed by a visit to the Department of Computer Science.

There were plenty of questions about admissions to our department and about the collegiate system of the University. The students and faculty were pleased to see the unique mixture of academic excellence and social interaction that is Oxford
