The Information Systems Group (ISG) has been awarded a highly sought after Platform Grant from EPSRC. Platform Grants provide a base of flexible funding to support the retention of key staff, feasibility studies, longer term research and international networking.

The grant will aid the established team, led by Ian Horrocks, in facilitating the larger scale and more adventurous research that will be required in order to fully realise the group's ambitious goal: to develop next generation semantics-aware data management systems. The grant will also allow ISG to offer an enhanced range of career development opportunities to its early-career researchers, to develop new intra- and inter-disciplinary collaborations via support for research visits and short exploratory research projects, and to pursue new approaches to interaction with industry.
