French jeweler Van Cleef & Arpels is wrapping up a four-month-long archival presentation at its first boutique in the Spanish capital.

After entering Spain with a Barcelona boutique in 2023, the brand arrives in Madrid with a two-floor space on Calle de José Ortega y Gasset, a luxury retail hotspot in the city's Salamanca district. The Richemont-owned house is using the address to showcase its high jewelry and watchmaking collections.

A winter garden indoors
The roughly 4,840-square-foot shop occupies a historic building, and the maison has kept its bones: the space features molded ceilings, a glass canopy on the first floor and large windows that pull daylight through the interior.

The store’s façade carries a floral decoration set against a patina, positioned behind the domes, a nature motif the house returns to across its collections.

Interior décor was designed specifically for the site. A staircase finished in plasterwork and pearlescent patina carries visitors up beneath the original ceilings.

The main salon is hung with handmade silk floral wallpaper against beige wall coverings, while a smaller Poetic Salon is anchored by a central mirror. Further salons carry extensive shelving given over to the maison's heritage.

A glass atrium the house calls "the winter garden" serves as the reception area and holds a Bar Lounge, and a green-toned salon on the basement level echoes the floral treatment at the entrance.

To mark the opening, the boutique has been hosting "Welcome to the World of Van Cleef & Arpels," a heritage exhibition of more than 40 creations and archive pieces from the maison's patrimonial collection. The show closes Aug. 15.
