FREDERICKSBURG, VA — A Fredericksburg electrician received the surprise of his life after scratching off a Virginia Lottery ticket worth $100,000, according to Lottery officials.

The anonymous winner purchased the Cash Wheel Scratcher at the Exxon located at 375 Warrenton Road in Fredericksburg.

The ticket turned out to be the game’s $100,000 top prize.

Virginia law allows Lottery winners to remain anonymous, and the winner’s identity was not released.

Cash Wheel is one of the Virginia Lottery’s Scratcher games and offers prizes ranging from $10 to the $100,000 top prize.

Lottery officials said this is the second top prize claimed in the game, leaving one $100,000 top prize still unclaimed.

The odds of winning the game’s top prize are 1 in 897,600, while the overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 5.02.

Virginia Lottery proceeds support K-12 education throughout the Commonwealth.
