Jose Mourinho is unlikely to dip his toe into managing in the Saudi Pro League after being sacked from Roma, with the former Chelsea head coach poised to reject an offer from Al-Shabab according to reports in Italy.
The Portuguese veteran was given his marching orders by the Serie A side on Tuesday with the club languishing ninth in league standings after a disappointing start to their campaign.
But reports suggested clubs in the Kingdom would be quick to hand Mourinho a new deal, with 11th-placed Al-Shabab thought to be the front-runners for his signature.

Tottenham may have signed Radu Dragusin but that hasn't prevented them from maintaining a watching brief on Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite.
Transfer Confidential readers are well aware that the highly-rated 21-year-old has drawn attention from Real Madrid, Manchester United and Manchester City while Chelsea have also registered interest ahead of the summer.
Tottenham were thought to have dropped interest after signing Dragusin this month but they remain the hunt as they prepare to build their squad further in the summer. Branthwaite's homegrown status is another attraction for Premier League sides.

Manchester United winger Facundo Pellistri's move to Granada has stalled as the Old Trafford club tries to convince Omari Forson to stay.
Uruguayan Pellistri was eager to move to La Liga but Granada were only offering to make a token contribution to his salary.
Talks are ongoing and other clubs are interested but the other concern for United is that talented 19-year-old Omari Forson has still to commit to a new contract and Erik ten Hag wants to ensure there is enough cover should Pellistri leave.

Bayern Munich are expected to have another go at tempting Newcastle United to sell Kieran Trippier before the week is out.
Newcastle have rejected a loan and a lowball offer from Bayern who are juggling right-back targets with Paris St Germain's Nordi Mukiele.
Mail Sport understands that Trippier is open to linking up again with former Tottenham team-mates Eric Dier and Harry Kane but the price would have to be right.

They ended up easy winners but having said all that, and seen them score five goals, I still haven’t changed my mind about what the Gunners are missing.
They are only two points behind leaders Liverpool despite having a horrible run in the past month, but I still think they need a quality centre-forward to go to that next level, and go on and win the Premier League.
I thought Brentford’s Ivan Toney could be the answer, with the wide players Arsenal have got and the service they would give him, but it doesn’t look like they are going to do any business for Toney this month, or make any other major forward signings before the window closes.
They are not far away and I just think that, if they were to get someone in, it might make a big difference – but that seems unlikely for now.

West Ham hope to know where they stand in their chase for Kalvin Phillips later today.
The Manchester City midfielder has long been on the wishlist of David Moyes, even prior to his £42million transfer from Leeds United in 2022, and the West Ham boss has been dogged in his pursuit.
West Ham though are well aware that the likes of Juventus have made an approach while Newcastle United were also keen. Other elite European sides have made their interest known too while Crystal Palace and Fulham have thrown their hats into the ring...

AC Milan want to sign Newcastle striker Callum Wilson on a permanent deal this month.
Mail Sport understands the Serie A club are interested in taking the England star to Italy and he would be open to talks, if an offer was accepted.
Milan have seen a loan approach for Wilson from Atletico Madrid be rejected by Newcastle, who insist he will not be leaving St James’ Park in January.
However, were Milan to present a permanent package, at the right price, then there could yet be movement.
