Egyptian Space Agency has signed a new cooperation protocol with SITAEL as part of its ongoing efforts to expand international partnerships and strengthen Egypt’s capabilities in space technology and satellite development.
The agreement was signed at the agency’s headquarters by Dr Maged Ismail and Marko Molina in the presence of senior officials from both organisations.
Under the protocol, both parties will work together to support innovation in space applications, enhance technical capabilities in satellite systems and remote sensing technologies, and explore opportunities for future collaborative projects. The Egyptian Space Agency said the agreement is aligned with its broader strategy of expanding international cooperation while leveraging space technologies to support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
The partnership builds on a series of international agreements signed by the agency in recent years to advance Egypt’s space ambitions and strengthen regional cooperation. During the NewSpace Africa Conference 2026, EgSA signed a memorandum of understanding with the Land Satellite Remote Sensing Application Centre under China’s Ministry of Natural Resources, aimed at using satellite data to support economic development initiatives.
Earlier, at the NewSpace Africa Conference 2025 in Cairo, the UAE Space Agency and the Egyptian Space Agency also entered into a broad cooperation agreement focused on advancing space science, technology development, and policy coordination between the two countries.
The latest collaboration with SITAEL highlights Egypt’s continued commitment to building domestic expertise in satellite technologies through strategic international alliances. By partnering with specialised satellite subsystem manufacturers, the agency aims to accelerate technology transfer, strengthen local technical expertise, and support the long-term development of Egypt’s space sector while contributing to wider regional space initiatives across Africa.
