A man is dead after police said they were shot Sunday afternoon at a Durham home.

According to the Durham Police Department, officers were called to reports of a dead person around 3:36 p.m. at a home in the 2500 block of Lane Street. When they arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound.

Police said the shooting is under investigation and they will release more information "at the appropriate time."  Police asked anyone with information that could help their investigation to contact Investigator R. Armstrong at 919-560-4440 ext. 29325.
