On Wednesday night's episode of Married At First Sight, Alana Lister reflected on her failed relationship with TV husband Jason Engler.

The 30-year-old became emotional in an interview as she unpacked the couple's time following their final commitment ceremony - and revealed that they had ended their relationship over text message.

'After final vows I really tried to make our relationship work,' the 30-year-old began. 

'It disappoints me because I feel like Jason and I had something that was really real and we weren't able to work through that,' she continued. 'It really makes me upset' 

During the reunion, Alana also admitted that she was saddened when Jason chose to ignore her.

'Obviously I know deep down I'm a little drawn to Jason, we shared a crazy experience... we did like each other I think genuinely a lot,' she said.

'So it is sad that I basically had no interaction with Jason the whole night,' she continued. 

'It would have been nice if he reached out.'

Moments before Alana's teary confession, Jason showed off a suspicious-looking mark on his neck. 

The 35-year-old groom had what appeared to be a love bite on the left side of his neck, just below his jawline.

Viewers at home were quick to comment.

'Is that a love bit of Jason's neck,' wrote one, before another got down to brass tacks, calling a spade a spade.

'Jason's got a big love bit on his next,' they wrote.
