Hello All,
I've been using AutoCAD Electrical 2016 SP1 (13.0.50.205) for some time now, and have recently been experiencing database issues. I've done a bit of research on the problems and have worked through the following...
Issues Experienced:
The project database will build when freshly opening the project. However, whenever the project is rebuilt, the database seems to loose connection with the project. This includes Update / Retag, and AEREBUILDDB. When attempting to run the Insert from Schematic List, as well as when running reports, the command line says “No Data to Display.” Other symptoms include being unable to surf between different pages, as well as signal arrows not recognizing each other. These signal destination arrows are also not available to choose under the Recent, & Project selections. Certain components will not create the xrefs if they are on separate pages. Oddly enough, when working with the same project, on a different computer, everything seems to work correctly. The same symptoms occur on any project I attempt to open on my machine, which makes me think it’s something on the installation. I also reinstalled AutoCAD Electrical in attempt to rectify this issue, which was unsuccessful. Read / Write permissions have been verified as well. A default wd.env is being used.
Action Taken:
- The lastproj.fil file had been cleared, to remove any traces of a possible corrupt project
- The projectname.mdb file was deleted from the location below. If AutoCAD is fully closed, then reopened, the .mdb regenerates. If AutoCAD is already open, the file date / time stamp will not update when running an AEREBUILDDB. I could not verify if an AEREBUILDDB will recreate the file, as it would not let me delete the file. (Mentions in use by AutoCAD)
C:\\Users\\username\\AppData\\Roaming\\Autodesk\\AutoCAD Electrical 2016\\R20.1\\enu\\Support\\user\\
The following commands were ran to verify the file / search paths:
!GBL_WD_USING_WD_ENV_FULL_FNAM
C:\\Users\\username\\Documents\\AcadE 2016\\AeData\\wd.env
!GBL_WD_DBNAM
Sometimes this command will return “nil”, other times returns below…
C:\\Users\\username\\AppData\\Roaming\\Autodesk\\AutoCAD Electrical 2016\\R20.1\\enu\\Support\\user\\projectname.mdb
!GBL_WD_USR
C:/Users/username/AppData/Roaming/Autodesk/AutoCAD Electrical 2016/R20.1/enu/Support/user/
Any help or guidance is much appreciated, thank you!
-Luke
