Katy Perry seemed to signal that her romance with former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was heating up with her response to a comedic article about the two.

On Monday, the 40-year-old hitmaker 'liked' a satirical post from The Onion about her that alluded to her apparent relationship with Trudeau, 53.

Katy's public 'like' of the post comes just days after she appeared to break her silence on the relationship at a concert in London.

The story, titled 'Katy Perry Releases New Single About Superiority Of Canadian Manufacturing,' detailed a fake song produced by pop mastermind Max Martin.

'I like to write about what’s going on in my life, and right now, I’m definitely in my single, flirty, manufacturing-powerhouse era,' read a fake quotation from Perry. 'British Columbia’s hydrogen fuel cell industry is a whole mood.'

Notably, Trudeau wasn't mentioned by name in the humorous article, but Perry's burgeoning romance with the liberal politician was clearly the subtext for Perry's fake surge in interest in all things Canadian.

'I actually want to hear this song,' one commenter wrote.

'I heard an early release of the track, the verse about tariffs totally slaps!' riffed another reader.

'The expected follow up - "Gravy & Curds" - is a power ballad about the life-changing potential of Canadian cuisine ~,' read another reply. 

The pop superstar — who had previously been seen kissing and cuddling Trudeau on her yacht off the coast of Santa Barbara, California — took to the stage on her Lifetimes world tour when she addressed the crowd. 

In a video obtained by The Sun, Perry said: 'London, England, you're like this on a Monday night after a whole day at work and a whole day at school?

'No wonder I fall for Englishmen all the time… but not anymore.'

The singer also received a surprise marriage proposal from a fan during the show but had to turn it down.

She laughed: 'I wish you'd asked me 48 hours ago.'

Trudeau and Perry kicked off speculation about a budding romance in July when they were spotted having an intimate dinner at Le Violon restaurant in Montreal, just weeks after she announced her split from fiancé Orlando Bloom, 48. 

All fell silent... at least until this weekend when exclusive pictures obtained by the Daily Mail showed the couple kissing and cuddling aboard Katy's yacht. 

A witness who took the snaps last month, said: 'She pulled up her boat next to a small public whale-watching boat, then they started making out. I didn't realize who she was with until I saw the tattoo on the guy's arm and I immediately realized it was Justin Trudeau.'

Following the steamy moment, Justin's ex-wife Sophie has shared a mysterious message about 'letting go' of love in a new social media post.

Television host Sophie, 50, spoke about the art of not holding on to love in a new Instagram post uploaded on Monday.

'Sometimes we forget that nothing we love is ever meant to be kept,' she said.

'The people, the places, even the moments that once felt infinite, right?

'Time asks us not to cling to them, but yet we do. I do because to hold on feels safer than to let go.'

Sophie continued: 'But, love was never about possession, it was always about presence. The present moment and when we release what we cannot keep, we make space for the truth of connection, intimacy, the memory, for the lesson.

'A single smile can echo across a lifetime, grief also lives there. I lost my dad in the past year, and I feel that with grief also comes grace.

'So maybe, love's deepest teaching is this: to stand open hearted in the face of impermanence. We honor what has been and to trust that letting go is also a form of keeping inside us where no loss can erase it in a way.'

Sophie split from Justin in August 2023 after 18 years of marriage. 

They have two sons, Xavier, 18, and Hadrien, 11, and a daughter, Ella-Grace, 16. 

Katy, who has a five-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom, split from Pirates of the Caribbean star Orlando Bloom earlier this year. 

She was previously married to comedian Russell Brand from 2010 until 2012.
