England captain Harry Kane has taken to social media to assure fans that his voice has returned after he lost it belting out Oasis' Wonderwall following the Three Lions' iconic win over Mexico.

Kane scored from the penalty spot to help England to a stunning 3-2 victory in the Azteca in the early hours on Monday morning, and joined the rest of the squad to celebrate with the fans at full-time.

As has become tradition after a win at the World Cup, the squad stood arm in arm in front of the travelling support to sing the Oasis hit, but Kane paid the price as he lost his voice and had to carry out an interview after.

'It was a crazy game,' Kane told the BBC. 'We had to fight and we had to find something. I've just been singing, I can't really talk. The occasion, the team, everything against us, we found a way.'

It left fans and BBC pundits Wayne Rooney, Joe Hart and Micah Richards in stitches, but fans can be sure that Kane is now ready to go again ahead of the quarter-final clash with Norway this weekend.

'How we doing everyone?' Kane said in a social media video on Monday. 'First of all, as you can hear, my voice is back.

Does Kane’s passion and post-match celebration show true leadership or risk his performance?

What's your view?

'I mean, what an all-timer of an interview that was last night. Glad to see everyone having a good laugh about it. It was a perfect interview to end a perfect night.'

It was Kane and Jude Bellingham to the rescue for England again as defender Jarell Quansah saw red early in the second-half and left Thomas Tuchel's side to fight with 10 men for much of the game.

The score was 2-1 to England at the time, with Anthony Gordon winning a penalty that Kane calmly dispatched to make it 3-1 soon after.

Kane then gave away a penalty which Raul Jimenez scored to make it 3-2, but England saw the game out for a historic win.

'Going into that game was so special, the atmosphere, the stadium, everyone was so excited to be there and play in this iconic game,' Kane continued.  'To come through the adversities during the game in the way we did, put our bodies on the line, the boys covering every blade of grass – it was incredible to be a part of.

'It was one of my favourite games in an England shirt without a doubt. Full credit to all the boys, the staff, we knew the test we were going into, we knew how tough it would be and we came out on top.

'Into the next round. Appreciate all the support. We had loads in the stadium and loads back home as well staying up late.

'The connection with everyone is even stronger now and we feel that more than ever.

'We have recovered now, we have calmed down, we have got a couple of days relaxing and then we'll get prepared for a massive quarter-final.'
