Shocking new details from the chilling first ransom note sent to Nancy Guthrie's family, warning that their mother's life is 'in your hands,' have been revealed.  

NBC News star Savannah Guthrie's 84-year-old mother was abducted from her $1 million Tucson, Arizona, home in the early hours of February 1.

No suspects have been named, and there have been no arrests in the months-long investigation into the puzzling case.

In the wake of her disappearance, several ransom notes have emerged demanding millions of dollars from the Guthrie family to reveal information about Nancy's whereabouts. 

The FBI and the Pima County Sheriff's Office have remained tight-lipped about the details and the legitimacy of the notes.

However, local Arizona journalist Briana Whitney has, for the first time, revealed in full the contents of the first note sent to the family days after Nancy's abduction on Wednesday's episode of the Crime Junkie podcast.

Whitney, who works for the podcast as a breaking news reporter and is an Arizona local, stated that the note starts: 'Hello, Savannah. We have your mother, Nancy.' 

'She is safe but scared. She will be held for ransom, and once payment is received, she will be released unharmed. We will be holding her for a maximum of seven days.'

Whitney added that the alleged abductor demanded millions of dollars in US currency.

'Once payment is received to the Bitcoin address below, she will be released within 12 hours of deposit to a safe drop-off location back in Tucson,' Whitney said, continuing to read the note.

'If the payment is not received by the last deadline on Monday the 9th at 5pm, she will be killed. Your mother is aware of this and her life is in your hands.'

Whitney continued: 'It is in the best interest of everyone to have this completed as soon as possible. You will not be able to contact me from here on out. There will be no negotiation. Do not play games. Law enforcement will not be able to help you.' 

The journalist added that the note contained pieces of information that were not known to the public at the time that initially led investigators to believe the note could be legitimate.  

'And then at the very end, they basically give what we learned in the press conference at the time that there was something only the abductor would know,' she said.

'Which was she had a white smartwatch that was on the floor near her bed, like at the foot of her bed, and then there was this flood light that was destroyed in the backyard. 

'So those two clues are what gave the FBI kind of the wherewithal to say this is not a hoax.'

The Daily Mail contacted the FBI and the Pima County Sheriff's Office for additional information.  

Three days after Nancy's shocking disappearance, TMZ had announced it received a ransom note, demanding the Guthrie family fork over $4 million in Bitcoin for her return.

But after federal agents decided to deposit just $152 into the specified cryptocurrency address, another ransom email was sent from the same IP address.

The following day, Savannah posted a heartbreaking clip on Instagram, sitting next to her brother, Camron, and sister, Annie.

'We beg you now to return our mother to us, so that we can celebrate with her,' the Today Show host pleaded in the video posted to her Instagram page.

'This is the only way we will have peace. This is very valuable to us, and we will pay.'
