Serial shed burglar arrested after running from police in South Jersey, officials say

A serial shed burglar was arrested after breaking into the properties of at least three neighbors, according to the Gloucester Township Police Department.
Officers were called to a home on the unit block of Vance Avenue in Sicklerville around 12:22 a.m. on July 21, 2026, when the homeowner reported that someone was breaking into their shed, police said.
When the officers got to the scene, they found a white-colored Chevrolet Equinox driving away, police explained.
The driver, identified as 60-year-old Darryl Hill, did not stop as the officers tried to pull him over, according to officials.
Eventually, officers went to Hill’s house and saw him get out of the Equinox before he ran away from them, police said.
The officers were able to take Hill into custody and his car was impounded to be searched.
While conducting a search warrant on Hill’s Equinox, detectives reportedly found evidence from other reported burglaries.
One burglary happened back in December of 2025 when Gloucester Township police went to a home on the unit block of Bainbridge Court in Sicklerville after a resident reported an unknown car in their driveway.
When officers got to the house, they said they found the homeowner’s shed had been forced open.
Officers said that they also found outdoor power equipment and bolt cutters in the woods behind the house that belonged to another property located along Bainbridge Court.
The equipment was returned to the owner.
Hill was charged with three counts of burglary, two counts of theft as well as eluding, resisting arrest and criminal mischief.
He is currently being held at the Camden County Correctional Facility while waiting for a court appearance.
