SC Freiburg have accepted a €60 million offer from Newcastle United for Johan Manzambi, according to Sky Germany.

Johan Manzambi is reportedly on the verge of leaving SC Freiburg for a move to Newcastle United.

According to Sky Germany, the two clubs have reached an agreement on a €60 million fee for the central midfielder.

Newcastle and Manzambi are now working on the final details, with the player expected to sign a long-term contract.

Aston Villa have also shown interest in the 20-year-old, but now appear likely to miss out.

Manzambi has caught the eye at the World Cup, racking up three goals and two assists in four appearances for Switzerland.

Unfortunately for Switzerland, Manzambi suffered a knee injury in training that ruled him out of their round of 16 clash against Colombia and leaves him a major doubt for their upcoming quarter-final against Argentina.
