Dani Dyer proved that she is a lot tougher than she looks in first-look images for the new season of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins.

The Love Island star, 29, can be seen holding her own even with a bloodied nose after she was punched in the face by Australian Married At First Sight star Jessika Power during a boxing match. 

For anyone unfamiliar with the show, it puts celebrities to the ultimate physical and mental test by having them complete a version of the harsh British Special Air Service (SAS) selection course. 

Another celebrity who proved that despite her petite size, she can very much hold her own is Dani's fellow Love Island alumni Gabby Allen, 33, who also impressed the instructors.  

Chief instructor, Mark 'Billy' Billingham, said: 'Little Dani Dyer surprised me. Very small girl. She was very timid at the start, lacked a lot of confidence and didn't really believe in herself. 

'She was willing to give up, but found a second wind with support from myself, Chris Oliver, Rudy Reyes and Foxy (Jason Fox).'

The instructor added of Dani's performance: 'She never believed she could do it but she could.' 

Dani was not the only celeb to push through an injury either and Gabby also refused to let a knee injury knock her out the programme.

She said:  'I was like, "My knee is not going to bring me down. I've got another one. I’ll hop."'

Brad Hodge, an Australian cricketer, said he couldn't believe how strong Gabby was.  

He explained: 'She was an amazing, strong, a great leader. I didn't expect that of her when I first saw her. I think it was a big turnaround.

'I knew she was an athletic instructor, knew she'd be physically fit, but her leadership was outstanding, something that I would have expected from a sports person.

'In times of adversity, she shone through.' 

Dani admitted that she had a helping hand when it came to preparing for the challenge - which will see British and Australian celebs face off for the first time in a new twist - from her husband, footballer Jarrod Bowen, 29. 

Dani said: 'Jarrod told me to up my training before I went in. 

'We went up to his family in the Midlands. I was training in potato fields with his dad, running up and down.' 

The reality star, who was recently forced to drop out of Strictly Come Dancing because of a fractured ankle, admitted that she wasn't use to working up a sweat outside but knew it was good preparation for the show.  

She added: 'I said to Jarrod, "I can't believe you do all your training outside, even if it rains."

'I've always loved being indoors doing the gym stuff. To go outside was the nitty gritty of it all. I'm really glad I did it.'

Other British celebs taking part in the new season include former rugby player Ben Cohen, 47, former cricketer Graeme Swann, 46, and sprinter Tobi Olubi, 38. 

The new season of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins begins on January 4 at 9pm on Channel 4.
