It's been quiet since the Mold 2.41 release back in April while today it's now been succeeded by Mold 2.42 for deliver even greater performance out of this high speed linker.
Mold 2.42 brings more optimizations throughout this open-source linker to deliver even greater performance. Mold 2.42 is said to be "noticeably faster than previous versions" but without any new performance benchmark data shared in the release notes or readme. The performance gains are said to be especially pronounced when linking large programs on machines with many CPU cores.
In addition to delivering greater performance, Mold 2.42 adds support for --pack-dyn-relocs=android and --pack-dyn-relocs=android+relr. Mold's compress-debug-sections option also now supports specifying a compression level for Zstd or Zlib. The -w and --no-warnings options are also now supported by Mold.
Mold 2.42 also adds SFrame version 3 stack unwinding format support. Plus many bug fixes.
