An award-winning documentary movie about one of the world’s best known sports car manufacturers is coming to North America. “Story of a Legend. Pininfarina” is set to make its American debut at Toronto’s Italian Contemporary Film Festival on July 10.

A winner of the 2026 Film Impresa Award, the Italian documentary has already performed well in Europe.

Speaking about the documentary’s debut, Pininfarina chairperson Lucia Morselli said:

“Bringing the Pininfarina documentary to North America means sharing with an international audience not only our history, but also the values that continue to guide us every day: creativity, innovation, and vision. We are especially proud that this takes place within such a prestigious setting as ICFF in Toronto.

The American market – from North to South – represents a highly strategic area for Pininfarina, where we are present with offices in Miami and New York and with an increasingly strong network of relationships. In particular, we feel a special connection with Canada and the city of Toronto, where last May the Pininfarina of America team took part in the ICCO Canada Business Excellence Awards 2026, an occasion during which we showcased our all-electric hypercar Battista Edizione Nino Farina. A meaningful moment that confirmed the strength of the ties between Italian and Canadian communities”

For those of you who don’t know, Pininfarina is an Italian coachbuilder and car designer that is arguably best known for its decades long collaboration with another iconic Italian vehicle manufacturer — Ferrari. Battista “Pinin” Farina and Enzo Ferrari were close friends, and both of their brands’ legacies are tightly intertwined.

The partnership lasted from 1951 until the 2010s and while not every Ferrari made during that period was a result of the two firms collaborating, Pininfarina was behind the design of what many people are the quintessential Ferraris. The Ferrari 250 GT? Made with Pininfarina. The Ferrari F40? Pininfarina. That weird four-door sedan concept Ferrari made one of was a tribute to Pininfarina founder Battista Farina.

The partnership’s dissolution in 2013 upset a lot of enthusiasts. And to many, a Ferrari without Pininfarina’s involvement isn’t a Ferrari worth owning. The last collaborative effort between the two, the Ferrari F12berlinetta, remained in production until 2017.

Since then, Pininfarina has struck out on its own. Producing a number of other vehicles including the Pininfarina Battista, a staggeringly powerful, $2.5, electric hypercar. It also looks a lot more like a Ferrari than Ferrari’s recent electric effort, because it was built by the company that arguably gave the prancing horse its iconic look through its golden age and beyond.

For the Purists: Porsche’s Manual 911 Carrera S Returns to America

Machine, Wheel, Tire

You start the flat-six, and it roars to life. You grab the shift lever and engage first gear, feeling the mechanical action of cables and clutch plates. Feather the gas and ease out the clutch, let the revs climb until the signature Le Mans howl sings from the rear-mounted engine: Ahh, the joys of a manual transmission Porsche 911.

But lately, the opportunities for that feeling have disappeared, as Porsche increasingly uses its PDK automated dual-clutch transmission. While capable of banging off F1-style shifts, the setup left some traditionalists wanting. But there’s good news: due to customer demand, the Porsche 2027 911 Carrera S MT package returns a six-speed manual to North American drivers.

Porsche just proved the Cayenne Electric is the most impressive performance vehicle you can drive

Car, Transportation, Vehicle

I have seen the movies. I know there is no way that a car can survive in the jet blast of a plane. I remember the scene from Casino Royale. And for me, that is science. But the engineers at Porsche and Stratolaunch aren’t so sure. They operate in the real world of science, and they came together to see if the Porsche Cayenne Electric could withstand the take-off power of one of the largest and most powerful aircraft in the world. Why? Because they can and because curiosity oftentimes leads to something awesome. Spoiler alert…the car holds up. But don’t take my word for it.

The car is its own beast. It’s got the ability to keep up and play in this space. – Orlando Bloom, Porsche ambassador
