As a former graphic designer, in addition to the awful kerning, smashing letters together like "ns" and (being generous to the interpretation of "r") "ra" add visual and mental emphasis. The team or person that designed the new word mark clearly have no understanding of the deeper functions of design. Unless ns is your new compressed logotype and the letter combination has some meaning to the company, specifically linking these two letters actively harms the branding.

Also, the kerning/tracking on the "g" isn't even the biggest issue I have with the letter. It 1000% doesn't belong in this typeface. As the only letter with instantly noticable variable line thickness, it sticks out even without being spaced as if the words we're looking at are "insta g zam". The whole letter is also hopelessly unbalanced.

I could critique virtually every minute detail of individual characters and composition, but these are glaring low-hanging fruit that shouldn't have made it past a first revision.

Yeah the 'g' is just a super funky choice.

If you're going to bring in the variable line weight then you should really be using it to sell something so it pays off. It doesn't flow in any way to the 'r' to help the cursive read for instance.
