Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls has struggled with some serious technical problems on PC ever since its release last week, resulting in a disparity between console owners and desktop diehards. Thankfully, a new patch seems to have swooped in to the rescue.

This patch, announced on the official Marvel Tōkon social media page and broken down at-length in the official Marvel Tōkon Discord server, attacks the most common performance problems players were experiencing. This includes micro-stutters, oddly high CPU use, and frame-rate drops.

According to the detailed patch breakdown, these CPU and performance issues were caused by "periodic audio processing" and "unnecessary" periodic checks of audio devices. There were also additional bug fixes including customisation settings being reset to default when the game restarted, and online lobby button input now being displayed properly.

The developers have also suggested two things PC players can do to further improve performance of the game on that platform. This includes warming up the in-game shaders and making use of the auto graphics via the in-game settings. That second one was a popular community fix prior to this patch, though the setting itself has also been improved..

So has this patch worked? Well, according to the reports of players on social media and the official Discord, it appears to have made a significant difference. One player - abhinav on X - wrote: "CPU usage slashed in half for most including me. Also played online a few games and got smooth games even in other regions as well now. But the netcode still seems worse compared to other games as of now."

Another player, FChampRyan on X, wrote: "Marvel Tōkon actually fixed the PC issues for most users. Unfortunately there's still some Potato PC's ruining the online experience. But overall this is such a fast turnaround."

As a result of this patch, some players are heading back to the game's Steam page to try and steer the platform's communal review score away from 'mixed' and towards something more positive. Steam Reviewer Rayden Belmont wrote: "If you're seeing negative reviews and wondering why, It launched in a near unplayable bad state. It remained that way for a few days, but as of August 10th, 2026, the performance issues have been fixed with a 10GB patch, so my vote goes back to Recommended. One of the best fighting games we've had."
