FICO, Seeds of Fortune Inc., and Marsai Martin’s foundation have collaborated to launch the FICO Financial Empowerment Fellowship, which aims to give students access to financial literacy, career opportunities, and scholarships.

This project comes after a 2025 partnership between the nonprofit Seeds of Fortune Inc. and Marsai’s Way Foundation, which outlined a three-year plan to provide 10,000 young women with financial education and wealth-building skills.

The partnership was launched at the Seed Forum: Women of Color Creating Wealth Summit. It is an event designed to address the racial and gender wealth gap by providing young women with opportunities to meet industry leaders who will empower them to become financial leaders.

“This partnership is about more than just finances—it’s about creating freedom,” Martin said. “I want girls who look like me to know they can own their futures, build wealth, and become leaders in every room they walk into.”

Now, both Marsai’s Way Foundation and Seeds of Fortune Inc. are collaborating with FICO to empower students to become financial leaders.

Each student chosen for the program will receive a $1,500 scholarship and develop financial literacy and leadership skills to uplift their communities.

Successful applicants will also attend an exclusive event in Atlanta during Martin Luther King Week, where they will have the chance to network with other students and meet Marsai Martin.

According to BOTWC, Marsai Martin became the youngest executive producer in Hollywood history at the age of 14 when she produced the Universal Pictures comedy, “Little” (2019).

She pitched the idea of a woman being magically transformed back into her 13-year-old self to the head of Universal’s film division and co-starred in the film with Issa Rae and Regina Hall. The film grossed $49 million worldwide, establishing Martin as a Hollywood powerhouse before she could drive.

The 21-year-old started performing at the age of five and was chosen at the age of ten to play Diane Johnson on ABC’s Black-ish. She became one of the most well-liked young actors on television thanks to her performance. She has since received numerous nominations for Screen Actors Guild Awards and NAACP Image Awards.

Martin’s production company, Genius Productions, has several projects in the works, and she has agreements with Universal Pictures and other studios. She has been named one of Time’s Most Influential Teens and has used her platform to advocate for young Black girls in the entertainment industry.

Recently, the actress-producer announced that she’s stepping into a bigger leadership role as co-chair of When We All Vote, the nonpartisan voting organization founded by Michelle Obama.

“Our generation is constantly told we’re the future. But the truth is, our future is happening right now,” she wrote on Teen Vogue. “We’re navigating rising costs, worrying about ICE in our neighborhoods, thinking about reproductive healthcare, climate change, and the kinds of communities we want to live in. These aren’t hypothetical conversations anymore. We’re full-on adulting now.”

She added, “I’ve realized that change doesn’t just happen because we care about something but it happens when we all participate.”
