TALLAHASSEE (VINnews)-Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier has issued a subpoena to former federal health official Anthony Fauci seeking records related to COVID-19 vaccine safety and effectiveness.

The subpoena demands documents detailing what Fauci knew about the vaccines’ safety and efficacy and when he obtained that information. It also requests materials concerning any private doubts Fauci may have held while publicly promoting the shots.

Investigators are additionally seeking information on book deals, awards and other financial arrangements that could have provided Fauci personal benefits outside his government role.

State officials are examining whether the conduct could support claims under Florida law, including deceptive trade practices, fraud or public nuisance. A federal presidential pardon applies only to federal offenses and does not bar state authorities from pursuing their own inquiries or potential cases.
