Some of the wildest moments you’ll experience in Last Drop may seem too absurd to be true.
They aren’t.
Inspired by authentic locations and unbelievable stories from Finland in the 1990s, Finnish indie studio Lohkare Games Oy today announced that Last Drop will launch in Early Access on Steam on August 18, 2026.

Set in a faithfully recreated Finnish city, players step into the shoes of Seppo “Zeze” Sahtivaara, a man who has a dream to be a writer, struggles to survive in a world where arguments are settled with fists, money is always short, and every day brings a new story worth telling.
Unlike traditional open-world action games, Last Drop replaces firearms with a deep, skill-based 1v1 combat system inspired by classic fighting games. New fighting techniques aren’t unlocked through experience points, but by watching over-the-top VHS action movies scattered throughout the world.
Outside the fights, life continues.
Drive beaten-up ‘90s cars through forests and country roads, ride bicycles, work odd jobs, spend evenings at the local pub, heat up the lakeside sauna and try to keep Zeze’s finances and his Drunkenness under control while navigating a cinematic story filled with unforgettable characters.
The city and many small towns live in their own schedule. Shops open and close throughout the day, weather changes naturally, and every street, forest and lakeside location is closely inspired by real places in Finland.
But what really makes Last Drop stand apart is its authenticity and raw feeling.
Many of the game’s strangest characters, bizarre encounters and memorable events are rooted in real stories. As unbelievable as they may seem, much of what players experience was inspired by actual events, giving the game a personality rarely seen in modern open-world adventures.
“We didn’t want to create another generic open-world game,” said Henri, Founder & CEO of Lohkare Games Oy. “We wanted to capture a time and place where we grew up. Some players will laugh because it’s ridiculous. Others will laugh because they may feel like they know someone like these characters.”
