A pair accused of pretending to be doctors have been banned from providing any health services after supplying "botched treatments" to a chronically ill man.

Victoria's Health Complaints Commissioner on Tuesday issued a public warning about Maher (Michael) Aboudargham following an investigation launched last week.

The unregistered health practitioner offered unqualified treatment when he unlawfully supplied unapproved medications to treat a significant chronic illness in Melbourne, the commissioner alleged.

An interim prohibition order remains in place, banning him from providing any health services in Victoria for at least 12 weeks.

"Members of the public are encouraged not to engage with Mr Aboudargham in relation to the provision of any general health services," the watchdog said in the warning.

The watchdog has also taken action against his alleged co-offender Assma (Sarah) Samadi, who also is under the same order.

Victoria Police charged the pair in July with trafficking steroids after receiving reports they claimed to be posing as medical practitioners in the Brighton East area.

Police alleged the pair charged more than $20,000 for their services since the start of 2026 for a series of "botched treatments" which included administering injections to a man with a long-term illness that were believed to assist with the illness.

The 32-year-old woman and 39-year-old man were arrested and charged on July 24 at a unit in Brighton East and were released on bail.

The pair are set to appear in court in October.
