The Academy of Cinema Arts and Techniques has announced that it will honour British-American filmmaker Christopher Nolan in its upcoming ceremony.
Christopher, 53, will receive a César d’Honneur at the 49th César Ceremony, in partnership with Canal+, which will take place at the Olympia Hall in Paris.
Previous recipients of the Award include Michael Douglas, who has won it twice, George Clooney, Will Smith, and Kate Winslet.
Explaining their decision to honour Christopher at this year's awards, the Academy said: 'The release of each of his films is a major event.
'Since his debut with Following, Christopher Nolan has an unwavering passion for and commitment to the theatrical filmgoing experience, continually shattering the limits of cinematic storytelling.

Christopher's war biopic Oppenheimer took the world by storm and raked in almost one billion dollars, the third-highest grossing film of 2023

The Academy continued: 'His films, including Tenet, Dunkirk, Interstellar, Inception and the The Dark Knight trilogy, have won a multitude of awards around the world, including 11 Oscars.
'His latest masterpiece, Oppenheimer, a veritable worldwide phenomenon, has been acclaimed by critics and audiences alike for its revolutionary visual aesthetic.
'Christopher Nolan is a master of filmmaking, capable of redefining the limits of cinematic excellence and transporting us beyond the boundaries of space and time.
They finished: 'He transcends cinema to make it an unforgettable experience.'
Christopher received the Best Director Golden Globe at this year's awards and broke down during his acceptance speech.
It was his first-ever win, having previously been nominated for Memento (2000), Inception (2010) and Dunkirk (2017).
The 49th César Ceremony will stream live and exclusively on Canal+ on February 23.

Oppenheimer has dominated its box office rival Barbie in the BAFTA nominations.
The epic swept the board with 13 nods, including a first-time recognition for Cillian Murphy who will go head-to-head with fellow Irishman Barry Keoghan for Best Actor.
At the Golden Globes, Oppenheimer won four awards for Best Motion Picture, Best Performance, and Best Director.
Then the Critics Choice Awards saw the film scoop up a further four awards for Best Picture, acting, and direction.
Barbie won four awards at both ceremonies, including a new Golden Globe simply for box office success, putting to rest the rivalry between the films - affectionally dubbed Barbenheimer - at least in the eyes of critics.
