She is one of the most revered actresses in Hollywood as she always commands attention on screen.

This tall star came to fame in the late 1980s with theater then she starred on a big TV show set in Washington, DC in the late 1990s and early 2000s

She has since worked with Margot Robbie, Emma Stone, Jessica Chastain, Jennifer Aniston and Kristen Wiig.

This Ohio native has won tons of awards - an Academy Award, a British Academy Film Award, a Golden Globe Award, and seven Primetime Emmy Awards, in addition to nominations for two Tony Awards.

She never got married or had kids and has stayed out of scandal.

She looks very different in her new series, the new Apple TV+ series Palm Royale which kicks off March 20.

With her 1960s style costumes, glasses and makeup she looks more chic Florida society than Hollywood movie star.  

She was raised in Dayton, Ohio, and studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. 

Janney's breakthrough came with the role of C. J. Cregg in the NBC political drama series The West Wing (1999–2006) alongside Martin Sheen.

She was also in Masters of Sex.

And her last hit TV show was the sitcom Mom with Anna Faris (2013–2021).

Janney has also played character roles in Primary Colors (1998), American Beauty (1999), The Hours (2002), Juno (2007), Hairspray (2007), The Help (2011), Spy (2015), Bad Education (2019), and Bombshell (2019). 

She won raves for her role as LaVona Golden opposite Margot Robbie in the film I, Tonya (2017).

Janney won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for that.

As far as theater, Janney made her professional stage debut with the Off-Broadway production Ladies (1989).

One of her standouts was A View from the Bridge (1997) and the musical 9 to 5 (2009).

Palm Royale is a true underdog story, says Apple TV+.

The show follows Maxine Simmons (Wiig) as she endeavors to break into Palm Beach high society. 

As Maxine attempts to cross that impermeable line between the haves and the have-nots, Palm Royale asks the same question that still baffles us today: 'How much of yourself are you willing to sacrifice to get what someone else has?'

Set during the powder keg year of 1969, 'Palm Royale' is a testament to every outsider fighting for their chance to truly belong. 

Wiig is seen climbing the wall over the club as she says: 'I had only been in Palm Beach two weeks but I already knew the Palm Royale, the most exclusive club in the world, was where I belonged.'

But she then learns the club is full of mean women and she will have a tough time being included.

'Evelyn, you are the woman to know in Palm Beach,' Maxine tells Evelyn (Janney) and she responds, 'I don't like you, Maxine.'

After Maxine makes a fool of herself she still tries to keep it positive: 'I see us all as one sisterhood,' she says which makes the trolls chuckle.

Evelyn tells Maxine, 'Let me tell you something about Palm Royale. It's a nightmare and that's all thanks to you.'

'Palm Beach is just a shell game,' Linda also says. 'Everybody has a secret.'

Robert tells her, 'You don't have to have money. The blackmail is right here.'
