Former US President Donald Trump will be at T Mobile Arena in Las Vegas for UFC 296 to support welterweight contender Colby Covington.
In a video, posted by Covington on X (formerly known as Twitter), the No 3 ranked welterweight met with Trump at the Mar-a-Lago club in Florida. Trump expressed his excitement at supporting Covington when he fights Leon Edwards for the UFC welterweight title on December 16.
'America's Champ Returns in 2 Weeks,' Covington captioned.
'I just want to say we're going to be watching Colby and it's been an incredible career,' Trump said. 'It'll be a great night and I look forward to it, traveling out there.
'We're gonna root you on. You're going to be fantastic,' Trump added. 'Good luck Colby, go out there and win.'

Covington had the former US President sign a suit with Trump's mugshot printed on its back
'I'm gonna take back that title and you're gonna take back the White House,' Covington responded as he shook Trump's hand. 'We're going to make America great again.'
Covington had dinner with the former US President and showed him a suit that had Trump's mugshot printed on the back. Trump then signed the suit..
'Just a great night for MAGA and what the future is to hold,' Covington said.
After nearly two years of inactivity, Covington is getting a title shot against Edwards, after the Englishman took and defended the crown against Kamaru Usman.
Covington holds a 17-3 record and had previously challenged Usman for the title during the former champion's reign. However, Covington failed both attempts at the undisputed title.
Covington's last fight was a highly-awaited grudge match against Jorge Masvidal, which he won via unanimous decision in March 2022.

An outspoken Trump supporter and self proclaimed 'America's Champion', Covington became the first UFC fighter to be invited to the White House after he won the interim welterweight belt in 2018.
Trump is also no stranger to the UFC.
The former US President has a good relationship with UFC chief Dana White and has attended several UFC events. On November 11, Trump walked out with White and Kid Rock to their cage-side seats at Madison Square Garden for UFC 295. The New York City crowd welcomed Trump with a warm ovation.
'We're gonna make America great again,' Covington added. 'You can delay us but you can't deny us. We're coming baby.'
