The Weeknd has provided an update on his health after he was forced to end last Saturday's concert in Los Angeles early due to sudden voice loss.

In a tweet posted Tuesday, the 32-year-old singer revealed that he'd received good news from his doctor and was advised to rest until his next concert stop.

'doctor says my voice is safe and with rest i'll be solid and able to bring the show my TORONTO fans are waiting for,' wrote the Starboy hitmaker, who is scheduled to perform in his hometown on September 22.

Though he comforted concerned fans with news of his positive prognosis, the Grammy Award-winner did not reveal the exact cause of his vocal failure. 

In regards to last Saturday's show, The Weeknd reassured LA-based fans that a new date for the concert is 'being worked out soon.'

He concluded the post by thanking fans for their message of support. 

'thank you SO much for all the love and understanding that's come my way. i love you all so much… XO.'

The Weeknd began trending on Twitter after his singing voice gave out while in the midst of performing his second concert at the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California on Saturday, September 3. 

He stopped the concert, informing fans that he would not be able to continue on with the rest of the evening's set.

He was met with loud boos from the jam-packed arena, which holds 70,000 people, as he profusely apologized on stage for the sudden ailment.

'I can't give you the concert I want to give you. I'm going to make sure everyone's good, gets your money back, and I'll do a show real soon for you guys, but I wanted to come out and personally apologize and not tweet it or Instagram it,' he told his mass of assembled fans according to Billboard. 'I wanted you guys to know that I can't give you what I want to give you. I apologize. I'm so sorry.'

He added, 'You know how much this kills me. I love you. Thank you so much.'

The Weeknd took to social media later in the evening to profusely apologize to fans for his truncated performance.

'My voice went out during the first song and I'm devastated,' the Canadian star wrote on his Instagram story. 'Felt it go and my heart dropped. My deepest apologies to my fans here. I promise I'll make it up to you with a new date.'

Adele famously underwent throat surgery because of a hemorrhage to her vocal cords and other stars, such as Miley Cyrus and Elton John, have faced issues with their voices over the years. 

The Weeknd's tour ran into problems early on, starting when he pushed it off back in January to play in more stadiums after it was previously postponed twice because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

When it finally did get underway back in July, the opening show in Toronto was postponed because of a wireless network outage.

Along with a U.S. and Canadian leg, The Weeknd will take his tour international by making stops in Mexico, South Asia, Australia and Europe.

The Weeknd has kept very busy recently.

On top of the tour, he is also coming out with a series following a young musican, played by Lily-Rose Depp, who falls for The Weeknd's character, a cult leader. It is titled The Idol and will run for six episodes.
