Welcome to the visual development and pre-production showcase for 'Stitched', an original independent animated short film pitch!
'Stitched' is a deeply personal passion project exploring what it truly means to extend genuine compassion and empathy to others. Born from childhood memories of feeling like the "odd one out," this story is designed to remind viewers that their own struggles are seen and valued.
The goal of this project is to bridge a strong 2D pre-production foundation—encompassing thorough world-building, character concept turns, layouts, and look-development—with a highly stylized, colourful 3D animation approach. Inspired by the incredible work of fellow Canadian and Toronto-based animation directors like Domee Shi (Bao, Turning Red) and Maggie Kang (K-Pop: Demon Hunters), Stitched focuses on expressive body language, whimsical charm, and a vibrant world that feels beautifully cohesive yet distinctively mix-matched.
