Sleek OLED design like we were promised
China's TCL has not embraced OLED technology in TVs, but with 32X3A the company is launching its first OLED monitor. It is now available in Western markets alongside two new LCD monitors. TCL launched its very first monitors in 2024, setting out to compete not just with LG, Samsung, Philips and Sony – brands it already battles on the TV market – but also with the likes of Asus, Acer, Dell and MSI. In 2026, the portfolio is being expanded with both miniLED LCD and OLED monitors. TCL's first OLED monitor, 32X3A TCL's first OLED monitorThe highlight is the new 32-inch 32X3A, whose OLED panel has enabled an extremely slim profile – reminiscent of the design concepts we saw 10-15 years ago when manufacturers first began championing OLED. TCL's OLED monitor features 4K resolution, 240Hz (or 480Hz in 1080p), 1300 nits peak brightness, 99% DCI-P3 color gamut, DisplayPort 2.1, HDMI 2.1, USB-C with 90W charging and audio technology from Bang & Olufsen. It uses a WOLED panel with RGWB pixel structure – not yet TCL's new RGB OLED panel type. Two new miniLED LCD monitorsIt is notable that it is TCL of all brands launching an OLED monitor. TCL has until now steered clear of OLED technology in larger displays, instead going all-in on LCD TVs with miniLED, and more recently RGB LED. TCL's super-ultrawide 57" 57R94 Now available in EuropeThe three monitors are launching in Europe now, marking the next phase of TCL's monitor push, though at launch they are not quite as aggressively priced as you might have hoped from a Chinese brand. We have already spotted the TCL's 32X3A OLED and 52-inch 57R94 miniLED LCD monitors on Amazon, and they should be more widely available outside China in Western markets soon.
