Criswell Chevrolet’s Mike Furman delivers new Corvettes to his customers who come from all across the country to work with the nation’s top individual Corvette seller.

Happy Father’s Day to all that dads out there today! This week Mike puts the spotlight on a special R8C Museum delivery. He shares some others included some great Corvettes from Saturday’s annual summer show by the Gaithersburg Corvette Club and we also get a great collection of throwback and vintage pictures as well.

I accepted an award on behalf of Criswell Chevrolet and also placed my vote for favorite car choice representing the ballot for Criswell Chevrolet of Gaithersburg, MD. ~Chairman of the Board of GM, Mary Barra has now graciously sent me three letters for my milestone deliveries, 5,000, 6000 and coming very soon (inside 30 days) Corvette #7000. I don’t take this lightly as I feel honored that Mary Barra would first email me and then follow up with a letter on her stationary mailed via postal service to Mr Criswell here at the dealership. I had the letter laminated and will bring it with me to all Corvette Events like Carlisle, PA etc. But in the meantime, if you’re in the Criswell Chevrolet area on the morning of July 18th please come by for my 7,000th Corvette delivery. ~Summer of 2004 I was sent down to VIR racetrack in Southern Virginia to test the yet to be released C6 2005 Corvette. Then again Summer of 2005 I flew out to Phoenix and test drove the New C6 Z06 at Bondurant racetrack. The new C6 Z06 would be released Fall 2005. Late August 2005 I had met up with David Hill, he was the Chief Engineer for the 5th (C5) and 6th (C6) generations of the Chevrolet Corvette. After my discussion with Mr Hill I decided to place an order for a 2006 Z06. I have many pictures from inside the Corvette plant during production and just outside the plant after it passed QC. Once it arrived at Damascus Chevrolet, many pictures were taken throughout the process and it went right into service for pre delivery inspection. When I hopped in it to fill it with gas I noticed the odometer reading displayed 1 mile! Very few times that has happened and I had to look twice to make sure. I wrapped up the paperwork and drove it the 8 miles home. As you can tell I have always documented many Corvette deliveries dating back to the 70’s and 80’s. I just wish Hurricane Sandy October 2012 wouldn’t have wiped out much of my files among other things. Enjoy the pics and story. Hard to believe this was 20+years ago.
