Mrs. Julia Kaminer Strickland, age 100, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 1, 2026. A faithful Christian, Julia lived a life rooted in her love for God, her family, and the values she held dear. Her unwavering faith carried her through every season of life, and her family finds comfort in knowing she is now reunited in Heaven with those she loved and missed so dearly.

Julia was born on December 28, 1925, to Caleb and Ressie Kaminer. She was the beloved wife of the late Rev. Frank Strickland, a devoted Baptist preacher, with whom she shared an extraordinary 69 years of marriage until his passing in 2013. Together, they built a home centered on faith, family, and service to the Lord.

Through the years, they ministered to others not only through Frank’s calling to preach but through the example of a marriage marked by commitment, sacrifice, and enduring love. Their bond was one that inspired those around them and remained one of life’s greatest blessings.

Julia was an avid gardener with a true love of growing beautiful orchids.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Frank Strickland; her parents, Caleb and Ressie Kaminer; three brothers; four sisters; her beloved son Jarrell Strickland; and grandsons, Joshua and Spencer. She leaves behind her devoted youngest son, Jeff Strickland, and his wife, Debra; her son Rocky Strickland and his wife, Melba; her daughter-in-law, Sheila Strickland, beloved widow of her late son Jarrell; her daughter, Ellen; her grandchildren Mindy, Derrick, Heather, Stephanie, Jason, Jenna and Mark; twenty-four great-grandchildren; twenty-two great-great-grandchildren and many extended family members and dear friends.

Julia’s greatest legacy was not measured in possessions but in the faith she lived, the family she loved, and the example she set. She believed in God’s promises, trusted Him through life’s trials, and looked forward to the day she would once again see her Savior and be reunited with her beloved Frank.

While her family grieves her absence, they rejoice in the assurance that she has heard the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” Julia’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her, and her legacy of faith, perseverance, and unconditional love will continue for generations to come. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7

A funeral service will be held at 12:00pm on Thursday, August 6, 2026 in the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home in Fayetteville. The family will receive friends from 11:00am-12:00pm prior to the service at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Forest Park.

We welcome you to provide your condolences, thoughts, and memories on our Tribute Wall.
